At Cornerstone Assembly, we believe ministry is never built by one person. It is built by faithful people serving faithfully behind the scenes every single week.
From greeting at the doors to teaching children, running cameras, leading worship, preparing meals, helping at events, praying with people, setting up chairs, serving at Cornerstone Park, and loving our community well… every act of service matters.
That’s why we are so excited to host our “We Get To” Volunteer Appreciation Banquet on Saturday, May 23rd at 5:00 PM — a special Hollywood-style evening designed to honor and celebrate the incredible volunteers who help make ministry happen at Cornerstone.
This won’t just be another dinner. It’s going to be a night filled with gratitude, laughter, encouragement, and special moments as we celebrate the eternal impact made through simple acts of obedience and service.
The theme, “We Get To,” reflects the heart behind serving the Lord. In God’s Kingdom, serving is not simply an obligation — it is a privilege.
We don’t have to serve.
We get to.
We get to love people.
We get to welcome families.
We get to point children toward Jesus.
We get to help create environments where lives are changed.
We get to be part of something eternal.
Jesus Himself modeled this kind of servant-hearted living. In Mark 10:45, Jesus said:
“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (NLT)
Serving others is one of the clearest ways we reflect the heart of Christ. Every handshake, every prayer, every setup team member, every nursery worker, every volunteer in every ministry area is helping share the love of Jesus in a practical and powerful way.
Sometimes the most impactful ministry moments are the ones nobody sees.
A volunteer holding a crying baby so a parent can encounter God in service.
A smiling face making someone feel welcome after a difficult week.
A quiet prayer offered in faith.
A faithful servant showing up week after week without recognition.
Heaven notices those moments.
This banquet is our opportunity as a church family to pause and simply say:
Thank you.
Thank you for your faithfulness.
Thank you for your generosity.
Thank you for your sacrifice.
Thank you for helping make Cornerstone a place where people can encounter Jesus.
We are truly celebrating the heart behind everything we do.
