But what happens when we start doing the same thing with God?

- The Altar of Impatience — when we trade God’s timing for our own
- The Altar of Control — when we trade God’s sovereignty for our own
- The Altar of Compromise — when we trade God’s righteousness for a standard we can manage
Every altar demands a sacrifice.
The counterfeit altar still asks for sacrifice—it just lets us decide what goes on it.
Authentic worship asks, “What does God require?”
Counterfeit worship asks, “What am I willing to give?”
The question isn’t only, “What’s on your altar?”
The harder question may be: Whose altar is it?
